In February of 1999 Dev Dosaj won the Valley Symphony Orchestra Composition Competition for his work,Overture: The Surrender at Appomattox. The piece premiered the same year at LAVC's Little Theater. It was performed by the Valley Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Chauls.
Mr. Dosaj was on the board of directors for the Premiere Chorale. He was also composer in residence for 2000 for the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale, directed by Terry Danne.
Mr. Dosaj has been a tenor in the Los Angeles Valley College Philharmonic Choir since 1995.
